昨天给妈妈打电话，妈妈说好久没看到易峰的新照片了，也是，我们每天瞎忙，又懒，让易峰的网站“长草”了。易峰一天一个样呢，每天都给我们一些意想不到的惊喜。他早上起来的时候特别喜欢讲话，先把他自己会的词全部过一遍， 然后就胡乱讲，这个时候你教他什么东西，他学的可快呢。现在他最喜欢说的就是“happy (高兴）”　“ｂａｂｙ（小孩）” “No（不）”“鸭鸭”。昨天跟他小生气，他颠卜颠卜跑过来，仰着头对我说“Ｈａｐｐｙ！”他惹我生气，末了还叫我happy，跟他真是没气生！

Alex has been spending more time at the farm with grandma. He goes there whenever he can. Now that the weather is getting nice and warm, he’s going to be able to spend all his days at the farm out of doors.

易峰又需要剪头发了，看头发长的。经常有人问我易峰有几颗牙了，我这个不细心的妈妈就说“不知道”。其实在易峰有十个牙左右的时候，我还帮他记着每颗牙的顺序，好像在两个月前，突然有好多牙上上下下的都在一起长，我就干脆省了这份心了，下面的两个大磨牙都长好了，他已经不喜欢被喂饭了，我每天都发愁给他什么手指食品带到托儿所去，今天带的是红薯和苹果。昨天晚上我们把菜花切小丁，他居然吃了好多。 上礼拜六去饭馆吃饭，他自己抓面条吃，吃得脸上，身上，哪哪都是，心情备好。我给他鸡蛋他不吃，他自己抓起来就吃了。

Grandma has been putting Alex to work. He’s turning into a little green thumb.

易峰帮奶奶浇花，心情大好，笑得嘴巴都合不拢了。

She got Alex his own little watering can, and here he’s watering the flowers. He’s been using the watering can at home a lot too, helping me do the watering at our place.

怎么样，浇得还有模有样吧？

Grandma’s been doing her part to help shape Alex’s character, because he’s been showing some disturbing Kevin Federline-ish tendencies with his baseball cap. We’re all in agreement that we’ve got to head that off at the pass.

The entire family went up to Temecula for Grandma’s birthday earlier this month. We didn’t get much in the way of pictures because the camera ran itself out of batteries, but here’s a shot of a very youthful couple of people.

Here we are on the way to have brunch with Alba and Brian. Alex loves these ducks we got way back when for the spa tub in our bedroom. These ducks have flashing lights that turn on when they’re exposed to water. Alex has been activating the ducks by putting them in his mouth and getting the contacts wet. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but he seems to dig it.

Duck is ‘ya ya’ in Chinese. Alex is saying ‘ya ya’ a lot lately.

易峰喜欢动物，象小猫，小狗，小鸭子什么的。 近来你问他猫怎么叫，他就故意学狗叫，把人逗得前仰后合。

On Memorial Day weekend, we went to the park with Eric, Vivian, and Olivia. Not much beats a Southern California afternoon in May. Here’s Alex with Mom. The holes on the flat surfaces of the play structure at the park seem to confuse Alex a little–even though he’s easily walking now he’s kind of unsteady on them. Luckily Mommy is here to help.

离我们家很近的地方有一个小公园。有时候我下午接到易峰之后，就在公园里玩玩秋千，滑梯，每次看到有其他小朋友，易峰就会精神为之一振，看到别人的玩具也总是毫不害羞地走过去瞧一瞧，摸一摸，甚至要玩一玩。小孩子就是这样，总觉着别人的什么东西都好。

Alex is getting better and better on the swing. Mommy has taught him to hold on to the sides of the saddle and now he can swing pretty far…

我忘了什么时候教易峰怎么荡秋千的了，觉得这种秋千应该很安全，应该没有怎么教。现在他可以荡的很很高了。易峰一向是比较谨慎的同学，不象我，也不象dave,看他把秋千抓得多牢呀。

…and Daddy is learning that it’s really hard to take action shots of a little boy on a swing with a slow camera.

There was a dog at the park while we were there, and I think this shot is of Alex following him around. Alex loves dogs.

He also loves the slide.

易峰喜欢玩滑梯，往下冲的时候有些害怕， 但很刺激。

He’s able to slide down it all by himself now, but he still prefers to go with a friend.

Here are Alex and Olivia at the bottom of the slide.

He’s got no problems sliding, but Alex’s dismount can use some work. If he’s left to his own devices, he’ll pop off the end of the slide face first more often than not. Luckily, the mulch on the playground’s surface is nice and soft.

Here’s Eric helping Olivia out while Alex gets ready to go down the slide with the moguls on it. This is the uncomfortable ride of the two, so Alex and Olivia generally used the other one.

There’s a longer spiral slide that comes down from the top of the play structure. Alex is still too little to use that one, but he and Mommy can join forces to tackle it.

Alex is talking more each week. Last week, he started saying “happy”, “baby”, and “hello”. Hello happy baby!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Alex and mommy have been taking swimming lessons for the past few weeks. It’s been a long time since we had him swimming, and he’s gotten un-used to the water. (Or maybe he was never used to the water without the big swim ring around his neck.) He’s been a little hesitant in the pool, but he’s coming around.

从4月18号起，易峰开始四个礼拜的游泳课，每周六上午半个小时。易峰开始还有些怕，但一看到其他小朋友们都在水里好好的，他就勇气倍增，也开始学着从台子上坐着往池子里面跳，（其实，大多数时候是我把他拽到水里）。易峰最主要的问题是不会用嘴巴吹水，所以他每次上完游泳课，都喝了不少池子里面的水。 当然，用腿蹬水，用手划水更是浅尝辄止。这个游泳课目的不是让小孩子学会怎么游泳，主要是让他们熟悉水性。我感觉上完游泳课，给易峰洗头容易多了。

下面的照片是易峰看到其他的小朋友在拍水，他也高兴地乱拍一通。

He loves seeing the other kids in the pool! Last weekend, all the other families were no-shows, which gave Alex over half an hour of time with the instructor. Unfortunately, he’d gotten up a little early and was kind of cranky. He perked right up when the students from the class after his started showing up and getting in the pool, though.

So far, Alex has learned how to hang off the side of the pool and sit on the edge and hop in to Mommy. He’s working on paddling and keeping from inhaling water when his head goes under. Mom is also doing an excellent job in the pool despite mistakenly thinking she doesn’t know how to swim. Way to go, team!

我这个旱鸭子为了儿子也奋不顾身了－有点夸张，我还是学过游泳的，但十几年没游了，再加上天生怕水，我觉得自己也挺伟大的，哈哈。 我很喜欢下面这张照片，易峰充满感激地看着妈妈，让父母一切的付出都觉得那么值得。

We tried it before, but this time it stuck: Alex has given up his pacifier. He last saw it over a week ago, and has adjusted very well to life beyond the binkie. We had no success with this back in June, but he was probably a little young to be handling such a change then–especially considering we were moving him into his room at the same time.

两个礼拜前我们停止给易峰奶嘴了。 奶奶很是紧张，怕易峰适应不了。头两天在白天睡觉的时候，是比较麻烦，易峰坐在自己床上哭呀哭呀，总是哭累了才睡着，但到了第三天就好多了。我是很受不了小孩子哭，所以每次经历这种事情的时候都觉得烦躁不安。但我们做家长的要帮助小孩子成长，让他们有一天可以独立生存在这个社会，我们就要知道什么时候是可以让孩子们哭一哭的。

Without really meaning to, I think we effectively conditioned Alex to handle sleeping without the binkie by leaving him alone most of the time when he cries in his sleep for the last month or so. Previously, we’d go into his room and give him back his pacifier if he’d spit it out, so now he’s much more used to sleeping without it. We had a bit of a struggle one night after we took the binkie away in getting him to sleep–since he’d always had the pacifier as he went to sleep–but that was it!

现在易峰会指着车叫 “car”. 在院子里，他每次都叫他自己的玩具车“car！”如果你问他“where is your car?”(你的车呢？）他就去把自己的车推着到处跑。

Yesterday we went back to the strawberry field we visited last year, Carlsbad Strawberry Company’s u-pick field. As you can see, there was again an amazing amount of fruit available, and this time Alex was able to help pick it.

上礼拜天我们去摘草莓。去年带他来的时候他还是躺在摇篮里的小宝宝，现在他已经可以自己摘自己想要的草莓了。但易峰一到草莓地里就摔了个大马趴，为了安慰他，就给了他一个草莓吃。好嘛，这一下就不可收，他不停地要草莓吃，很快他就把草莓汁涂得脸上，手上，哪哪都是了。

He was also able to help eat it. Out strategy is to pick only the largest strawberries when we go, and if they turn out to not be quite large enough after we’ve got them plucked, it’d be a shame for them to go to waste, so Alex takes care of them.

This year, Eric and Vivian and Olivia; Jared, Yingbin, Yingbin’s parents and Kyla; and Jeff and Phet were all able to join us. For some reason the image quality setting on our camera got pushed down to low and most of our pictures turned out to be puny and ineffective, but here are Eric and Vivian and Olivia. Look at those glamorous sunglasses on Olivia!

All those strawberries made Alex a little messy. You can just make out the redness on his cheeks and lips in this picture.

路过的人看着他就笑，他就回一个更灿烂的傻笑。

Olivia不嫌弃易峰哪哪都是的草莓汁，仍然很友好地和易峰拉着手。

“I tell you what, Olivia–there’s nothing I like better than a nice juicy strawberry!”

易峰听到天上有飞机在飞，马上告诉大家，“机－！”

They were both excited when thinking about all the strawberries they’d have at home for the next few days.

“哈哈，今天的草莓吃得好爽呀！”

We were hoping to see Grandma for her birthday yesterday, but Alex was too tired after his strawberry picking adventure, so we headed home. He did have fun thinking about Grandma’s birthday party after he woke up from his nap, though.

易峰自己能扶着门框从院子里走到屋子里面来。看这张脸多干净呀！

If the engine holds up in his tractor, Alex is thinking about driving it up to Grandma’s house to wish her a happy birthday.
