Workout Buddies

workout buddies

Alex and dad are workout buddies. Here dad’s doing his situps, and Alex is providing moral support. Sorry for the blurred motion, but that’s just how fast dad does his sets.

blown

After situps Alex and dad are both pretty blown. Alex isn’t usually this red, and the peas on the bib further bring out his colour.

Alex has a pink pacifier on account of dad just grabbing a package from the store and not really paying attention to colours. Luckily, Alex is secure in his masculinity.

Alex had his one-month well baby doctor visit on Thursday. All the working out is paying off–he’s now 9 lb 8 oz. If he keeps growing at this rate he’ll be bigger than dad by his first birthday.

morning

Good morning, Mom! We love you!

Tummy Time, Diner Time

alex on playmat

Alex got a tummy time playmat on his first trip to Babies’R'Us. It’s shaped like a surfboard.

Sooner or later he’ll be using this to increase neck strength and learn to flip over and all that good stuff. For now, he mainly hangs out on it and waves his arms around a lot.

Here he’s wearing the Sleep Sack that Mrs. D got for him. It’s really cool–like an armless sleeping bag, and intended so that he doesn’t have to have a bunch of loose blankets covering him at night.

alex's first ride in stroller

On Sunday, Alex went for his first stroller ride. He went to meet some of the neighbors and then do some light shopping at Vons. Living down the block from the supermarket has proven to be incredibly convenient.

He’s pretty pissed in this picture.

On Monday Alex went to his first diner–the Studio Diner. We saw it on Food Network this weekend and decided to check it out. It was OK.

Valentine’s Day

alex's bassinet

Here’s Alex in his AAP-approved laundry basket/bassinet. Foreground is his Leap Frog caterpillar that plays classical music–he hasn’t quite gotten the handle on turning it on yet–and in the background is Alex’s panda Douglas that Mrs. D got him for Chinese New Year.

Here’s Alex dreaming about his princess. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Alex doesn’t seem to like baths yet. He’ll learn.

Home for One Week

alex

Alex has been home for one week! He’s getting the hang of this place. He’ll be doing chores in no time.

Thanks again for all your generous baby shower and birth gifts. We’re getting photos for the thank you cards and then they’ll be out to everyone.

Here’s the older stuff from Alex’s former page.
